The Escola Superior de Saúde do Vale do Ave (ESSVA) is located in a modern building specifically built for the teaching of sciences and health technology, where in addition to the teaching and research spaces, the students can find all the services that they may need in their daily academic activities, including a library, study rooms, spaces with fixed internet access, Wi-Fi, stationary/copy centre, restaurant, leisure facilities and other available services.
This academic campus is located about 200m from the city’s central bus station that connects all the cities in the northern part of the country.
In fact, the city of Vila Nova de Famalicão finds itself in a privileged geographical position, being located in a crossroad between major communication routes, placing the city at a maximum distance of 20 minutes from the main urban centres of the north of the country, such as Porto, Braga, Maia, Guimarães, Barcelos, Póvoa do Varzim, Vila do Conde, among others. In addition, the city has a train station that allows fast connections to the cities of Porto, Braga, Barcelos and Viana do Castelo.
