This group focus its research activities on two research lines:
1. The Analytical Chemistry research line involves the development and application of methodologies for analysis of organic and inorganic compounds on a variety of matrixes such as environmental, pharmaceutical, food and biological fluids;
2. The Pharmaceutical Technology and Biotechnology research line involves the development of new drug delivery systems and microencapsulation of bioactive compounds, evaluation of the efficacy of cosmetic products and development of formulations of dermopharmaceutical products. The biotechnology is related to food/pharmaceutical and leads to synthesis of bioactive compounds by microorganisms and bioencapsulation of probiotics.
