Mission and Values
The CESPU Group’s mission is to promote teaching, scientific research and the provision of community services in the scope of higher, polytechnic and university-level education.
The Group originated with C.E.S.P.U., Advanced Polytechnic and University Cooperative, CRL, which was founded in Porto in 1982 with the objective of promoting higher education in the area(s) of health sciences.
As a result of the development strategy adopted, C.E.S.P.U., CRL and associated companies currently comprise a Group which has a diversified range of intervention in the health sector and considerable social impact.The CESPU Group and, in particular, all those who make up its team of professionals, guide their activity so that the training and employability of their students is always the focal point of their institutional mission and strategy,
in order to provide them with the best quality of education as well as offer them new employment opportunities within the service provision companies included within the Group. In effect, the institution currently has a number of its own units and others in partnership, enabling it to promote the creation of a series of new opportunities for their students and employees. These clinical units are increasingly considered as the preferred locales for conducting clinical internships for their students and trainees, and as structures which are increasingly important in the context of the employability of its graduates.
The Group’s human resources are also a target of special concern, so as to ensure their involvement in an innovative dynamic of work and service provision. The student will always be the centre of the Group’s activities, and its professionals are the most important factor in achieving its goal of excellence in higher education.
