Gandra Academic Campus
Gandra Academic Campus, which houses the Instituto Superior de Ciências da Saúde - Norte (Advanced Institute of Health Sciences – North) and the Escola Superior de Saúde do Vale do Sousa (Vale do Sousa Higher School of Health) is located in the city of Gandra, roughly 18 km from Porto, near the knot on Highway no. 4 (A4) formed with National Road no. EN 15 (exit: Campo, Lordelo, Rebordosa). The commuting time between the city of Porto and Gandra Campus is about 15 minutes if using A4, or about 20 minutes if using EN 15.
If opting to use public transportation, one can use any of the various fast buses that leave Porto, which complete the route in about 30 minutes and whose stops are located roughly 50 metres from the campus entrance.
Gandra Academic Campus includes a set of five buildings which house the classrooms, research facilities, study halls and leisure spaces for students as well as spaces for offering community services.
The campus has a vast parking lot for students and the institution’s faculty,as well as a range of gardened green areas which provide pleasant and comfortable spaces for its users.
On campus, students can find a variety of services which they need, including a library, reprography/copy room, restaurant and bar, fixed and wireless internet access, among other services made available to them. In addition, the city of Gandra, which is home to the academic campus, presently has all the comforts and services which its residents could possibly need, including a pharmacy, health centre, restaurants, post offices and banks, among other services and facilities, making Gandra an attractive and very pleasant place to live.
The city also offers an ample range of housing options for rental or purchase in the area surrounding the academic campus, thereby making it rather easy for a student to find a housing situation which corresponds to their needs.
